Dude...I'm not gonna argue this with you, I have always said I think he's a mediocre NFL QB who has a much heart as anybody, but not a great physical talent. Nothing more or less. Let me know when you give up trying to find a post that says otherwise.

Hard to team to watch. Mid way through the third quarter, the mass exodus began. And everyone thought that Carr...Winke...Vinny was the answer to our prayers. All you Jake haters have hidden in the bushes. :hamer:

You have to compare apples to apples so look at 2002-2007 for Hurney and the first 5 years of Poilan's tenure at Indy. Look at wins, Conference Championship Games, Super Bowls, Playoff win-loss record.....

Still not apples to apples, as every GM job is different. I don't think comparisons work in this case, I think you need to evaluate them individually.

Yes, I have to agree....My problem with Poilan is that the Panthers were a mess when he left. Because of him? Don't really know, but he was the GM and he spent our first few years going after the old timers under the win now scenerio and we had shit for a foundation when he left.

correct me if I'm wrong but I think they were 3-13 both of Polians first two years, but since then, with the exception of 2001(?) haven't they been in double digits in wins since?

They were bad, got progressively better, and have maintained a high level of play under Polian. (btw, I hate Polian but give credit whee credit is do)

I just feel like we're heading in the oposite direction.

Anyway you look at it, they average 12 wins over the last 5 years, with a high of 14 twice, we've averaged 9 wins with a high of 11 twice. Also, avg PF and PA for Indy was 437 and 321 for us, 320 and 302.

    Indy
    2006 12 4 - 427 360
    2005 14 2 - 439 247
    2004 12 4 - 522 351
    2003 12 4 - 447 336
    2002 10 6 - 349 313
    12 4 - 437 321

    Carolina
    2006 8 8 0 270 305
    2005 11 5 0 391 259
    2004 7 9 0 355 339
    2003 11 5 0 325 304
    2002 7 9 0 258 302
    9 7 - 320 302

I think salary cap might have had something to do with Marshalls release too. I assumed (I could be wrong here) they got rid of Faulk for a younger and less expensive RB. Whether Marshall would have gotten those numbers in Indy rather than with Martz is another debate. My point was that Polian has found better then expected talent when many thought he had jumped the gun, ie James and Addai. James was drafted over Ricky Williams and Addai is looking like the best back out of that class right now.

You really need to let go of Indy lucking into the SB last year. They've been knocking on the door for years, they were due.
