Like garbage? 3 of the six seasons that Sherman was at GB, Favre had 30 or more TD passes and over a 90 QB rating, something Carr has never done. Why are people constantly making excuses for Carr? The coaches killed him, his oline sucked. I am sure McCoy will be responsible this year.

It's really important to me that Panthers fans not unjustly shit on any of our players. Or unjustly praise, for that matter. I made a very compelling case that Carr played well against New Orleans that no one who says "Carr sucks" has even pretended to rebut with anything resembling facts. I think it's fine to criticize someone when they actually play poorly, but to bash someone indiscriminately and/or give up on the season just because Jake went down is not helpful.

It was after the Tampa game, so it wasn't too terribly out of line.

No, not exceptionally so. That game is why I took a week off, so I understand the feeling.

Unjustly shitting on players? I think Carr had an okay game against New Orleans. But his inability to manage the pocket nearly got him killed, and I haven't seen anything from him since he as been here that would lead me to believe that he can blossom into a good starting NFL QB. Kyle Orton had 'good' games for Chicago. Shaun King had a good game or two for crying out loud. And for someone who is as knowlegable about football as you are, it seems you would be quite aware of Carr's inabilities. I think it is great that you want to be the optimistic guy, and I certainly hope that you are correct, but I don't think most people are 'unjustly' shitting on him, considering he is in his sixth year in the league.

I don't think I've ever seen you take criticism of a player this hard or this personally.

It's fine to say that he should have thrown that ball away, but it was the protection that broke down and got him injured. Moreover, as I've pointed out, he was consistently accurate on both short and long passes against New Orleans. I don't know what more people could have asked of him in that game except not to make that one dumb throw that got intercepted. Aside from that, I can't think of one bad thing he did in that game.
Dude, you know how pissed I get when people say things that are extraordinarily stupid. Please don't do that to me. There is nothing about my assessment of Carr that is optimistic. I have provided the facts to support my opinion. You and the other people dumping on Carr have provided exactly zero. Carr apparently sucks just because you say he does. Awesome argument there.
Then you're a fucking moron. As I've said, not one person has provided even a single legitimate reason to crap on his performance against New Orleans. Not one. Yet I see thread after thread of "Carr sucks," "Carr is awful," and "Carr was ineffective." It's absolute insanity. Chris Weinke sucked last year, but all this Carr hate is completely inexplicable to me, especially since I've gone out of my way to provide facts proving that he was just fine against the Saints while no one has provided anything to show that he wasn't.

Stop being a douche, magnus. You've seen me act this very same way when people dumped on Beuerlein, Peppers, Rucker, Trgovac, or any number of others associated with the team. Of course you want to pretend that I'm somehow biased for Carr because you're the one biased against him, which you don't want to admit. Nevermind the fact that I have repeatedly provided facts and statistics to back up what I've said while you have given none. You're the guy who has always been known for his extreme bias, all the way back to Seifert. Meanwhile I always call it like it is, whether that's popular or not.

I know it is a boost to your ego to routinely call people stupid, or that they are a moron, etc. I actually know a couple of good therapists that might help you work on your self-esteem. Let me know if you need their number.

You seem to be basing your opinion of David Carr on one game, a game in which he did nothing spectacular and still showed his tendencies to be impatient in the pocket. And while you say he only had one dumb throw, it damn near cost us the game, and then he was only able to get us within range of a 50 yard field goal so Kasay could bail the team out (but I do give him credit for doing that). No, I am not going to rewatch the game 50 times like you do to prove my point, but I have watched enough football to know a good QB when I see one. I do think that with the right gameplan, Carr may not lose too many games for us, but he will rarely win any games for us either.

I certainly hope I am wrong about Carr, and I would love to see him succeed here. I do admire that he had the tenacity to come back in the game hurt and help to pull out a win. I am definitely going to be pulling for him the rest of the season.

My ego is self-sustaining, but thanks for using a tired gambit that certainly hasn't been tried by hundreds of others who didn't feel like they had a sufficient comeback. In all honesty, I call people morons when I feel that they're being morons. The whole intent is to get them to stop being morons, because their idiocy annoys me.
He didn't play well against Tampa Bay, and he did play well against New Orleans. That two game track record does not even remotely come close to justifying the ridiculous amount of Carr bashing that has taken place. It's absurd.
A game we would not have been in without Carr's earlier throws, and a throw that we've also seen Jake make a billion times. As I keep pointing out, I'm the one who is bringing up facts and statistics to back up my position. You and the people like you are the ones babbling nonsense like "Carr sucks because I said so."
Again, "Carr sucks because I said so." It's blindingly obvious to anyone that I've forgotten more football than someone like you will ever know, and yet I never rely on arguments like "I know a good QB when I see one." If you can't explain what your reasoning is, and if you can't give evidence to back up your point of view, you really ought to keep your mouth shut. The same goes for me, except that I always explain my positions.
