I still noticed him holding the ball out on a few runs, but he definitely kept it high-n-tight in the 4th quarter.

Yeah, him not fumbling yesterday was pure luck, not from anything he is doing better technique wise.

He got some tough yards and our running game won that game but I will not start thinking he is a great back or anything until he does it more consistently and against someone other than Atlanta. Getting a 1000 yard season would help his cause too.

To me it always seems like he performs better indoors/on turf than outdoors/grass.

Anybody got some stats to back that up?

(In other words, he'll disappear the first foul weather outdoor game we play).

Yahoo! has Foster with a career ypc of 4.1 on grass and 4.3 on turf.

    re Williams looking bad:

yeah I saw that later. Seemed like every time he carried the play ended up in a pile near the LOS, I must have missed a couple of runs that pulled his YPC up (uninvited guests were ignoring my "leave me alone totally during the game" rule, grrr).

I imagine that change is partly just due to Atlanta being horrible against the run the last few years despite solid LB play.

Williams was good enough, DF just had that "put your damn head down and drive" mentality that he sometimes lacks, and really made ATL pay.

I started calling one of my RB's DeShaun for just that reason. He does it for balance, which still isn't acceptable. It's going to cost him at some point, I hold my breath everytime I see it coming.
