Wienkie had a rating of 108 in that game.... Worst looking 108 I have ever seen. Vick had a 22.7 in what was his next to last game.

I am not sure how much of that was Henning and how much was Fox.

I believe Fox. That was when he said they were going to run until they got a first down. And then they actually made one so kept on with it until they didn't. :leaving:

It was Henning. You can't selectively credit Fox for something when the offense does well and blame it on Henning when they did something you didn't like.

And yeah, that game was hard to believe. Definitely entertaining. It seemed like old school Nebraska in the NFL.

I just marveled that they gamplanned AWAY from Weinke--how many direct snaps to DeAngelo in that one? 5-7? I forget. That showed me they had zero faith in Weinke.

Yeah when they were direct snapping to Deangelo on 3rd and 7 or 8, it was pretty clear Weinke's days were over.

I wasn't selectively crediting Fox, I was going by memory of a Fox quote, or maybe a player quoting/paraphrasing what Fox had said during the week (probably every day at practice). Maybe it was Henning himself who related that but I think not.

I don't/didn't have a huge anti Henning agenda, I was more an anti Maser guy (due to us rarely winning LOS over a period of years).

Nobody else remembers it this way? I will look for something.

Fox made it clear that we needed to run better, yes. Henning is the one who installed the gameplan and called the plays. Fox did not come up with the formations we used or tell Henning to do so.

Yes, both are right. Fox said what I said he did, and gave credit to the staff (Henning included) for their play designs.

edit: sort of unclear who's idea it was originally, to run until we make a 1st. To me that sounds like a Fox directive.
