God that sucked. I mean the band's good and all, but stretching out a three-note vamp for 15 minutes of uninteresting instrumental masturbation is boring and fatiguing. My wife loved it of course, 'cause she loves her some Dave. The only really skilled musician in the bunch is Carter Beauford and he overplays every single song.

take that back. I saw Charlottes setlist, not as good as Raleighs. The Raleigh show was badass.

I saw them at Ziggys in 92. I haven't had any desire to see them since.

    what was the setlist?
I liked last year's, when I went, and Raleigh got a good show too, but I haven't kept up with it at all this year. We got two new songs last year but were supposed to get Dreaming Tree. Haven't seen that one yet.

I guess it's either your thing or not. I don't like that much jammy stuff anymore, and probably still like DMB partly out of habit - it's not improv on the level of jazz or blues, it's not rock, it's just its own weird thing. But I still enjoy it.

I'm a drummer. The best drummers will often leave a little space here and there to serve the music. All Carter B did was fill every empty space imaginable...to the point where it was overkill. He's got mad skillz...his single stokes are fast and clean, but he just hogs every bit of silence.

    Guess I'm getting old.
