Let's not overlook that the 7-9 came on the heels of 1-15.

I just cannot buy Trogo as an upgrade; if JDR was DC in the SB I can buy us taking home the Lombardi, secret spies or not. Wish he'd have waited one more year to jump ship.

JDR as DC and Trogo as DL coach was the ticket.

Ok, here's what it is. People like JDR more than Trgo because:

    1) He looks like an action movie star.
    2) He has a cool name.
    3) He's more "Head coach material" than Trgo.
    4) Trgo looks and sounds like a retard.
    5) Trgo has a difficult last name.

That's all it is. Period. It has nothing to do with the team's performance. Remember how many times the defense couldn't close the deal in '02? The Green Bay game, Arizona, Dallas (Quincy Carter converted 2 4th downs on the last drive!), Tampa (even though they were fantastic in that game), and home v. New Orleans were all games that the defense had an opportunity to win, but couldn't get the job done.

How did that happen? JDR is FREAKIN' INTENSE MAN!! That means we should win all the time, right? Someone explain this shit to me.

You can't, bitches. You're just finding something to rant about after the loss.

One could argue he got more out of less talent.

Why do you get so worked up about what someone else thinks?

Did he, though? Fields was at the top of his game, while Rucker and Jenkins were both better then than they are now. The corners were questionable, but Minter and Grant were pretty solid safeties.

Take a good look at the picture in 2002 and we were nowhere near as talented as we are now, save for the safety position and arguably a couple of OL spots. Jenkins was better, Pep wasn't. Rodney friggin Peete was our QB, yet we won seven, up from one. Mostly on the back of that D. Oh yeah, Morgan missed his usual 8 games too.

Btw, talk about emotion maybe some of the guys should remember Sam Mills. That is where the '03 emotion came from, for the most part.

The question was whether or not the defense was less talented in '02, and aside from cornerback, it was more talented.
