I posted elsewhere that it wouldn't shock me if rather than moving Battiste up to account for Bridges suspension, they moved Kalil up and slid Hartwig over to right guard. Seems likely that they consider Kalil "number six".

The concern for Bridges would be what happens if that combo works really well the first two games? It opens up the possibility of the dumb stunt he pulled costing him a spot in the starting lineup.

As a positive for him though, the Observer reported that he took Kemo off his feet once during drills.

That makes no sense whatsoever. You don't change starters at two positions to cover for one. If they think Hartwig at guard and Kalil at center is the best lineup for all games, then they'll go that route. But if Hartwig is the starting center for the season, he'll start there during Bridges' suspension as well. You don't change your center to accommodate right guard for two games.
Kemo is not very stout. Hartwig regularly man-handled him when both were in the AFC.

It seems like Kemo's issue, especially considering his size, is that he wins or loses based on whether he can get off the snap low.

If the dropoff between the 2nd guard and the 2nd center is that big, then sure, I could see that. You'd still want your best 5 on the field, if possible, rather than have a big dropoff.

I'd rather they just move over Hartwig when Kalil's ready, and be done with it, of course. I don't think Bridges should be starting either way, unless he legitimately beats people out.

Melton isn't 205. Perhaps you had him confused with Jamison, who has actually gained quite a bit of weight (according to the team website).

yeah, if Smith is mostly flanker now then it isn't shocking to see Colbert/Jarrett starting. Suprising, because I still think we could get more out of Carter than Colbert at SE, but not shocking.

Special teamer from New Orleans. I wouldn't expect him to stay second string once Beason gets here.
