I saw it mentioned, possibly on Mags' blog (yes, I read it). Gross probably didn't notice.

    the news came from Gantt's.

The more important news was last night, with Wharton sitting, Wahle was LT, Hartwig was LG, Kalil C.

also, looking at the pics Mark posted after midnight, it seems like Steve Smith is playing the flanker role now, at least part time. That might explain putting Colbert and Jarrett together, because Carter isn't as good a fit at the split end.

I think I remember someone saying Smith would now play flanker to get him better matchups.

I also read the OL would play all different positions to find the best 5. Then positions would be set. That will be an interesting story.

Note Minter is playing SS, and Salley FS, accd to this morning's story.

yeah. Batiste was 2nd string RG, no note where Montgomery was but Hangartner was backup LG before the move. Bridges, assumably, will still practice, still play preseason, and if he doesn't get beaten out, will still start at some point.

Upside is that they didn't just move Hangartner up, even as simple a move as that'd be in camp. So maybe they're that aware of his limitations. But to me, Montgomery is the better guard of the two, and he wasn't 2nd string at either place, so they have him stuck 3rd string. Which right now would be a cut, or at least be a cut after game 2.

I think most of this was from Yas' blog? Don't remember, but most of the first/second string stuff was Gantt and didn't include the move of Wahle to temporary LT.
