Waiting for the proof, I won't worry about it if he doesn't miss any live contact practices because of it.

People can make guesses based on previous seasons and be right but this is a new deal so maybe not. Wharton is a wild card right now, hell Wahle had surgery too for that matter. Davidson, Magazu and the blocking scheme are wildcards right now too. Some guys may do better in the scheme, some may not.

Kalil isn't a first round pick like Gross who we all knew was gonna start day 1, but maybe he plays good enough to convince them to move Hartwig. Then again, maybe since we have a proven guy (at least as a Titan), they do the conservative thing and don't rush Kalil. I think we have a ways to go before we know who our best five are.

Ken lucas is one of the best dbs in football. I think Richard Marshall should get the nod over Gamble. Gamble is only good if you want someone that will give up and let Chad Johnson beat him deep.

Its hard to blame Gamble for that play. He was on Johnson pretty good, it was a great throw and great catch.

Still think Gamble is a good CB myself. All of them get beat sometime and Chad Johnson has beaten some pretty good CB's during his career. I feel pretty confident in the combo of Lucas, Marshall and Gamble. I think it's one of our strongest positions on the team. I wish I felt half that confident in the S situation...

Yeah, let's bench him because of one play.

It is a career crossroads year for Gamble, though. If he steps up, he earns himself a lot of money here or probably somewhere else. If he doesn't, he probably gives up the chance to start for the next couple of years. As magnus said, he has the physical talent, so it's always possible for that light to come on and have him suddenly be a very good corner. I just don't think he has the mentality for it, which seems to be common for a lot of guys who are converted from offense.

He's not gifted or strong, or powerful, no. I can't speak to whether he'd be underpowered at guard, but that seems about right.
yep. He's solid. He might've been top 5 before Kalil, and he'll be good depth. But that's what he is, a reliable player who probably shouldn't start if things are going right.

    absolutely.

Well if we can get this safety situation straightened out we ought to have one of the better secondaries in the nfl, no matter what combo of cbs we put out there.

I do. I finally caught some old tape of him before his injury, and he played better than Mitchell on steroids. We really could use Hartwig in the starting lineup.
