true. I would see where that would simplify things. And changing it up too much on plays directly after clock stoppages wouldn't really be a change in tendency - it'd just be two tendencies.

Either way, everyone from Fox down has specifically mentioned CADENCE as something that's changing, and I don't think I've ever once seen that being mentioned as a change in an offense. I do believe that the idea that cadence and audibles being mentioned in such bulk to this point seems to indicate what people in the org and players thought were weaknesses in the past system, but it's still an inference so there's obviously a lot of play in how it's being interpreted.

in middle school, I'd expect something like "always go on 1" as as simplification thing. This is the pros - I imagine they could handle varied snap counts. And audibles.

henning: "we'll go on one every damn time. we'll run the same 5 plays every damn game - by god - damn what the defense does - we'll impose our 5 plays on them whether they like it or not"

    Good lord.

First, how can you have an impression about something that wasn't actually true? Secondly, it's hilarious that you both didn't know that the OC doesn't call the snap count and that you didn't bother to read myself or law1ng2b2 pointing that out before you posted.
    Heh.

well, if it were the coach's philosophy that he wanted the team to always go on the same snap count then i would assume that there wouldn't be a need to call the snap count in the huddle so you could be mistaken as it pertained to Henning's offense. maybe the idea was that we always go on one unless the QB changes the snap count in the huddle. i can see, without necessarily agreeing or disagreeing, that a coach would think it beneficial from eliminating mistakes to speeding the time it takes in the huddle. when i read the article i didn't see any mention of the snap count coming in with the play from the sideline. it could be you jumped to a wrong conclusion but then if minter and ruck were full of it, it's a nontopic. either way, i don't see where it makes Yaz an idiot unless we hold him accountable for not paying attention to the snap counts in a game. personally, i'm an idiot because i don't think i ever paid attention to the snap count (hoping to save you some effort).
