The Giants are similarly frustrated with Shockey and Burress not training in New York, but that's far from suggesting that those two will never play another down for the team.

This I agree with. The idea that Jenkins won't be on the team has to either have actual backing or not be said, and I think that using the above as the backing puts it under "not being said".

I agree that they all seem to write the same story sometimes, and I never got that. But he can easily put up two stories - one full of bitching about Jenx from teammates and speculation that "Jenkins may have played his last game for Carolina", and one with the news. Plus, that "may" is a lot more sensible than the "won't".

Gantt does allright using the blog for some minor opinions. There's a line there, between the two.

I guess it comes down to personal preference. Personally, I like that Reed tends to put a different slant on things than everybody else. Believe me, I've cursed and even laughed at some of the stuff he writes, but at least he's not as boring as alot of the writers that recycle the same stories that everybody else is writing without adding anything new.

I definitely like Gantt better than all of them though.

Anyway, like I said before...I tend to believe that Jenkins will be at TC and things will work out. You never know though...Reed just may be right. I doubt he or any of the other beat writers have any more access to Jenkins than we do right now though, so it's really all opinion at this point.

Now Foxsports.com in the "Rumors" section has jumped onto the Reed bandwagon:

The reality is Kris Jenkins isn’t here because he’s trying to force the Panthers’ hand. He either wants a new contract or wants to be traded, where he can then sign a new deal with more up-front money for doing nothing. My guess is if Jenkins doesn’t get a new contract he will hold out of training camp and the Panthers will eventually trade him. Either way, I think Jenkins has played his last down for the Panthers. I don’t see any way Panthers general manager Marty Hurney gives Jenkins a new contract and I don’t see anyway Jenkins returns under his current contract, which will pay him just under $10 million over the next three seasons.
