Goodell reminds me of that asshole neighbor that you had as a kid, who wouldn't let you come near his front lawn. I'm pretty sure he's serious about this.

their jurisdiction is just over the NFL. And they've also shown that it doesn't matter if you're guilty, being suspect is enough for sanction.

While I acknowledge that the Vegas thing had a part in the length of the suspension, it was not the sole reason for a suspension. His failure to report the arrests in Georgia as required by the old personal conduct policy and his contract was grounds for suspension. The fact that he repeated the offense (failed to report more than one arrest) showed total disregard for the required action. He was GUILTY of failing to report the arrests which in itself merited the suspension. The suspicions from the Vegas stuff and other things boosted the suspension's duration.

But he never was convicted of any crime. Make no mistake about it, he needed punishment, but as far as the lawbooks go, he's a model citizen. His has been more based on image as much as anything else. True he didn't report the arrests, but that alone probably at worse nets him 8 games like Henry.

the latest on the Vick saga from KFFL-an imformant has come forward to claim that two days prior to the raid there were seven dogs killed and buried on the property. If Vick was there for any of this he's up shit creek with Goodell. Honestly for the policy to be taken seriously, some one big has to be taken down. I still think they need to tweek the rule to have only bonus money count toward the cap when these guys are suspended and if they're tossed from the league the entire contract should be null and void capwise. Doing those two things makes it less likely for a team to try and cover up things.
