    From PFT:

The article from the AJC can be seen here: NFL Enters Probe of Vick

So, if you were being investigated for a crime, how would you feel about your employer calling the authorities and offering to help get the goods on you?

Not too good if I had committed the crime. Not too bad if I hadn't.
If I were a fellow employee, I'd applaud my bosses for trying to uncover the truth.

If I broke the law, I don't expect anyone to cover up for me.

I would totally expect any employer that I would work for to have enough concern for the reputation of the company/corp/organization to do everything it could to protect that reputation.

If you have evidence of a crime, the law requires that you report it. Otherwise, you risk guilt yourself. No employer has the option (legally) of protecting its employees. Just the opposite, they have an obligation to the law. If I have an employee who commits crimes, I first want to know it, and second want him (her) out of my organization as quickly as possible. Protecting Vick would be stupid.

Granted, but you're not Michael Vick.

That's the disconnect. Responses to this thread come from people with reasonable attitudes and respect for the law. Vick is a spoiled moron who believes that everyone worships the ground he walks on and the rules don't apply to him. If you have any doubts on that, check his recent ESPN interview.

So yeah, for all of us, okay because we're not concerned and/or we haven't done anything. For a guy who thinks he's a god that can do whatever he pleases, this would be difficult to reconcile with what he believes to be reality.

(probably should have phrased the original question better)

You're right Mr. Scot, Vick thinks he's the Teflon Don Jr. - how much of that is him and how much is that he's really been allowed to be above it all would be interesting. It's going to be a very rude awakening for a LOT of players to have to become responsible adults. Many players aside from Vick have a perception of invincibility (morally) because in the past they've been allowed that but it sounds like Goodell isn't going to tolerate much - HOORAY!

I've been critical of some of Goodell's new policies (many of which were set in motion by Tags) but I can always respect a guy who is willing to rip off Mike Vick's head and shit down his throat. The new conduct rules are perfect. If you want to be a part of the league, your behavior should reflect that. If you want to party, get out. When you get right down to it, guys like Ricky Williams and Pacman Jones just want to party. The NFL definitely needs to weed those guys out.
