I dont think its certain if any of the guys at S taken yesterday (other than Landry) really are any better than the guys left on the board...

It is. Meriweather is a damn good player, while even Griffin or Nelson would have given us a legitimate starter. The problem was that none of them went where the value dictated. Still, Jackson or Wendling will be worth a look.

I'm willing to give Merriweather the benefit of the doubt on the gun. Apparently he convinced alot of teams that he's not a thug in interviews. But that scene of him stomping on a head in a fight just doesn't sit well with me. Maybe it was not typical of him. But since we can't do anything about it anyway, I'm going to feel glad we got Beason instead. Several months ago we were insisting the Panthers should proceed as if Morgan weren't here. They did. If Morgan plays, he'll play WLB.

So why could Hartwig not get back on the field ahead of Hangartner? Was he never healthy enough?

Thanks. I did not recall Hartwig going on IR. I thought I remembered him simply being on the inactive list during December. Getting old sucks.

His draft class was '02. He's in his prime years, 2nd year into his 2nd contract.

You're on a nice little roll.

I'm pretty sure that Trash was referring to himself getting old (forgetting something he should not have) . . . not Hartwig

I have a feeling that in a couple years this pick will be brought up again. I hope it's to say that Beason is 10 times the pick Meriweather was and that New England let a player slip by them in the draft....although I doubt that will happen.
