How important is team chemistry? Can you win a Super Bowl without it? How much can chemistry compensate for a lack of talent? Has a team with serious chemistry problems ever won a Superbowl?

It's wise to go with it. You can win w/o it.

I've found that chemistry is a bi-product of success. You never hear folk lores about a 5-11 team with great chemistry.

Teams like the Colts and Patriots have success year in and year out partially because they keep their core intact. I think some teams have won it all without it though. The 1994 49ers could not have had much since they threw that team together in free agency in an effort to get past Dallas.

I remember the "Bickering Bills" was the 91 team that just missed winning over the Giants. Thats about the closest one that jumped out at me. Can not recall what their disfunction was, but I suspect the defense was sick of the offense scoring too fast or something along those lines. I know they had some big eggo's, but at this level a lot of teams do and maybe none more-so than the early 90's Cowboys, but I never recalled hearing anything about a chemistry problem with them.

Depends what you mean by chemistry.

Plenty of teams have won with internal strife. Broncoes had their share in route to their first SB win, particuarly with Romo. Things were already getting ugly in Dallas when they won their last under Switzer.

Agreed. It's one of those vague sports terms to begin with, but I know when you're winning games, everyone gets along better. Dinner tastes better, the sky is bluer, the grass is greener. Think back to 2003...people say that team had "chemistry", but what if Jake didn't find Proehl on 4th down against Jacksonville, or had Jenkins not blocked that extra point in Tampa? We would have been an 0-2 football team, with a QB controversy and everyone wanting to kill Dan Henning.

It's a game of momentum. Winning breeds winning, and losing breeds losing.
