See? That wasn't too hard, was it? It's all I asked. Hell, I didn't even ask you last I checked.

And it's odd, but I never said 2003 was his best season. I said most people don't point to a performance several seasons ago to suggest that folks are "quick" to turn on Jake. Then I asked Piper if thought Jake was getting better.

So if you want to talk bias, I'll just point about who did all the inferring here.

You made a number of statements in generalities. I guessed you were talking about Jake, since you were leading that way. Sure, that makes me biased. :mickey:
And yes, I did infer you meant 2003 was his best year. You can wiggle out of it now, sure. It infers the last thing of worth he did was four years ago, and that's obviously incorrect in almost every sense.

This year hasn't happened yet. Can he return to form? Yes.

No, it simply infers that he's continuing to get better if you think that. He could've improved every year before last year and the answer to my question would still be "no" if you think he's no longer getting better. That would be the "plateau" part. As I said earlier, it ain't that hard. Y'all want to infer all kinds of shit when all I asked is:

Do you think he's getting better?

I don't. That doesn't mean he's done nothing of worth since 2003. Not at all.

He won't get physically better? He is what he is. His style won't change, he's too old for that.

Can he play more proficiently? Have his most productive season this year? Sure. It's not like he's 38, this is his prime. If he is going to do anything, it is now.

It irks me that Delhomme gets so much of the blame for last year. The Panthers were supposed to be a run first team and they had one of the worst running games in the league, that makes the QB's job exponentially harder. Sure, he had some turnovers that costs us at the end of games but, he would'nt have been in a position where he had to take those chances to begin with, if they could have run the ball when they had leads going into the 4th quarter. How many redzone rushing TDs did we have last season?...3 or 4? compared to 12 by Stephen Davis alone the year before. That's the difference between 8-8 and 11-5 right there. Of course you're going to throw more INT's in the redzone when throwing the ball is your only option and the other team knows it.

As for Carr...I hope he does sign here and that it kick starts his career. I just don't see him coming here and taking over like some are saying. Even if Carr looks awsome in the pre season, don't expect Fox to make a change unless Jake is just playing horrible football and loses his confidence.

According to at least one opinionated soul here Jake HAS lost his confidence . . . can’t really disagree with that distinct possibility. It would also be pretty difficult to prove at this point. One could also make a case that Carr is in danger of the same.

Wouldn’t that just be spiffy if our #1 and #2 QBs had lost their confidence :sadbanana:

I'm in the minority...I would rather have Harrington. Both players got a raw deal to start their respective careers, but Harrington seems to have the drive and genuine love for the game where Carr seems to be along for the ride. Harrington is more nimble and less willing to take a sack. Joey has thrown more TDs than Carr (more INTs too for that matter), but he can at least put points on the scorebaord. Standing in the pocket too long and the inability to create drives for points is the very reason Weinke is unemployeed right now. Why would we want to bring in a younger version of someone we just cut? Harrington is fiery and has the "gunslinger" mentaility like Jake, so for the Jake haters out there I can see why you would want Carr. Harrington just needs to get his confidence back and with a stable franchise like ours, I think the rebound effect would go a longer way in resurrecting Harringtons career than Carrs.
