So you shelled out the cash for HD but are too cheap to pay for cable service???? That's the stupidest fucking thing I've ever heard.

And Math- grow a pair and don't let the wife tell you what you can and cannot buy.

Have you tried buying a non-HDTV lately? I don't visit many pawn shops. Do you? My tv is a Sanyo from Wal-Mart. I paid $243. 27". Like I said, I don't watch a lot of tv. I just wanted to know if anyone had used the air signals.

    FYI:
By 2009 all tv stations will be required by the FCC to broadcast ONLY in HD. Just admit you didn't know what you were talking about. Preesh.

Builder- you're getting digital signal and HDTV mixed up. The FCC is requiring every channel to go digital, not HD.

I'm not trying to be a prick, but I'm trying to help. I've researched the hell out of HD for the last few years. I'm getting ready to buy my third hdtv. I'm a fucking hd geek- I'm the one people make fun of when talking technology.

You really don't understand HD over the air vs the compressed signals that you get from a cable or sat provider, do you?

I get that Vito, but you have a very limited HD lineup. With Sat/Cable, you get a shitload more HD channels.

I agree the picture quality is not as good as OTA, but I'd rather have more HD channels than 5 (CBS, NBC, ABC, FOX, and PBS). I don't know if I'm forgetting any other channels.
