Detroit gave Harrington what was perceived by most to be the best WRs in the draft a couple times. Hakim did well in St. Louis. Chambers is a probowl guy. McMichaels is a top 10 TE. Kevin Jones and Ronnie Brown are better than Davis. Detriot and Miami have had better records than Houston over all for the years that each QB has been a starter. Not to mention Harrington has bombed as a starter for both Detroit and Miami.

I don't think there is any question who the better QB is considering the circumstances. Harrington has had 2 opportunities with two decent supporting casts around him. Houston basically relied on Carr to carry them while he got killed for a couple years. Carr can and will start soon. Harrington will probably never start again.

We need Harrington as a back up or Carr as a starter. That's pretty much how I see it. Delhomme will be pushed out by Carr and supported by Harrington.

They BOTH suck, Carr just seems to suck less.

Can we talk about Safety and LB for a while...whoever we bring in at QB is not likely to see the field past pre-season anyway.

But again, they bombed in the NFL, two of them at least. Harrington sucking and sulking didn't help, but other quarterbacks who have come in and had success elsewhere also failed at Miami and Detroit. And Davis had consecutive 1000 yard seasons, and was on his way to a third till he got hurt. Neither Jones or Brown have done that yet.

Again, I like Carr better, and agree he has more upside. I also agree that Harrington is likely no better than a backup.

But Carr hasn't played with only scrubs. He had a good running game for a couple of years and a Pro Bowl reciever, and never finished better than 7-9. Whether he truly is no better than a below average starter himself remains to be seen.

They're both better than Weinke. I don't think either is better than Delhomme.

Carr had Johnson, but anyone else they brought in sucked. They never had a legit #2 option. Losing Dom Davis/Williams didn't help matters. I don't want to defend the guy to end of the earth, because I agree that he's not proven himself (only one 3,000 yard season, never thrown more than 16 TD's in a season, etc), but let's face it - the Texans sure didn't help matters by surrounding him with misfit players.

Detroit's offense should have been better w/ Harrington, but I don't believe it's all on him. He didn't give Charles Rogers a drug problem, or tell Mike Williams to drink gravy instead of gatorade, or tell the Lions to underutilize Kevin Jones. I'm not sure anyone could have been successful in that circus.

    What gives you this idea?

Agreed. Carrs QB rating was almost as high as Jakes last year, despite being sacked 19 more times. If you look at the numbers, and take into account the situations, it looks to me like Carr is pretty far superior to Jake. Give Carr an oline to play behind and the best WR in the game...

Y'all do know that Carr just got cut and replaced by a career back up who has started 2 regular season games and lost them both, right? Does anybody here really believe they cut Carr and gave up draft picks for an unproven player just for the hell of it?
