My point is that they are both in their prime. You can't have two starting qbs on the same team and not have controversy.

My other point is, I don't know that I would mind if Carr came and beat out Delhomme if he were the better qb, but I think we owe Delhomme a good back up right now, not a direct threat. Carr ain't coming to Carolina to ride the bench for more than a year and Delhomme is a starter for atleast 3-5 more years. So, why would you bring in Carr unless it was to displace Delhomme sooner than later? I would prefer a rookie that would not play for 2 years or a Harrington, that would never threaten Delhomme for the starting position. QBs that are placed in a threatened position are almost always squeezed out by coaches and fans. That's reality.

I would take Carr or Delhomme as a starter, because I think Carr will be good somewhere. He was in a horrible situation in Houston and he deserves a fresh start.

a little controversy's going to happen (obviously - look at this crap).

Reed's insinuation's plain retarded, though. "Why would they come here unless they're being promised something?"

    Because they're unemployed.
And if this is Carr/Harrington's prime, they're not the guys to take on Delhomme if that's what this is supposedly about.

Harrington is not equal to Carr. Harrington had his chance with two decent offenses.

Carr has been surrounded by shit

What the hell happened to Reed anyway? That article continues his trend of stupid articles the last couple of years. There's going to be a Panther's writer controversy at the Gaston Gazette if he keeps this up.

I would prefer Carr over Harrington but neither of these guys = QB controversy.

    How were Harrington's offenses better?

yeah, Carr had a good receiver and, when healthy, a good back.

It really does not matter what they think would happen if or when Carr or Harrington comes here. Neither of them is likely to beat out Jake. Even if they look much better in preseason they will not start unless Jake gets hurt or completely goes to crap. Remember the fact that Rodney Peete started the season for us in 2003 despite the fact that Delhomme out played him by a good margin in that preseason.
