I really don't think it would have mattered where Pep played. It was Fox's first draft. If all other factors were close to equal, the D was going to be the pick.

As for the Carr-Harrington debate, am I the only one who feels just as good about going into the season with Jake/Brett/and a day 2 draft pick QB as the do about Jake/Brett/Carr-Harrington?

Yeah, Fox is a D guy so your probably right there. But i have to imagine there was an awefull lot of pressure to draft the home town kid.

And we did pass on Kalimba Edwards too later on in round two.

Personally, i dont feel good about Brett at all. All i see is Jake right now.

I am all for Jake/Baz/Rookie or post draft vet signing. I'd rather develop a QB of the future while he presently have one.

I could live with it, but wouldn't call how I'd feel equally as good. I like Basanez.

I was hoping for a day one QB (3rd Round), but yeah, I would rather have that than than Carr or Harrington, who have had chances to prove themselves but have been unable to do so. I would rather have some potential on the bench.

Agreed, but honestly ATP I really don't care. Jake needs to suck it up. If he's still an NFL starter, let him prove it on the field.

According to both the NFL Network and NFL Radio, Minnesota is not interested in Carr whatsoever.

I disagree -- I strongly believe Carr would absolutely rock in Carolina's offensive philosophy. A run-heavy, balanced to vertical attack is exactly Carr's niche. It's the scheme he played in college and absolutely flourished in. And even if he's brought in to back up Jake for a year, would that be so bad? He could use a year of rest after being sacked 250 times. Let him bring a serious challenge to Jake in '08.

Minn is gong to jump the gun and put all thier eggs in Tavaris Jackson's basket too soon. Given another year or 2 to learn from a seasoned vet, Jackson could be everything Michael Vick was expected to be. However, he isn't ready yet.
They give him the rock now and we're looking at the Falcons in Purple and Gold.
