    "It's About the Money

This is why quarterback Michael Vick is safe in Atlanta: If the Falcons were to trade or cut Vick, they would take a hit of roughly $23 million against the $109 million salary cap in 2007.That could be disastrous, forcing roster cuts and severely limiting the team's ability to sign free agents and draft picks. Atlanta holds the 10th pick in the draft's first round.

The impact of the salary-cap hit is determined by the pending charges for guaranteed money over the duration of the player contract. Vick's 10-year contract expires in 2013, and he is still owed $59 million in base salary."

The cap hit would screw the Falcons for the next several years. How good does that $107 Million dollar salary look now?

The monkey/gorilla that was Peyton's back, jumped to Vick's, if it wasn't there already.

Guess they'll have to ride that expensive horse they bought... I'm sure they thought they were getting a thoroughbred and not horse shit when they signed that deal. Suck it Falcons...

Not to mention ticket sales WITH Vick. I know my cousins from NC use to go to the Falcons/49ers game all the time because they knew tickets would be available.

I heard tonight that Farve is wanting Moss and lobbying hard. Maybe he feel he can help him get those records.

Which ensures that not only will he stay in ATL, but he'll start, too. Nobody wants to pay to see him sit on the bench.

If they are in the playoffs, people will forget quickly, but I guess selling jerseys is more important than winning :trophy:?
