6th round maybe. He'd just be another 3rd stringer here that we all discuss...then is replaced by another new 3rd stringer.

I did this thread 2 weeks ago.

Funny how the responses change after a national championship.

Some of you guys are nothing more than bankwagon jumpers.

I've always liked Leak. (Though I probably have more exposure to him than others.) Some others here didn't seem to like him. But I am not sure if I remember why.

Does he make bad decisions? He seems smart to me. Is he short? He is not tall. Does he have an arm? He is not Chad Pennington, a starting NFL QB with less mobility.

Smart. Mobile. Decent size. Can add to the run game. Decent arm. Wins.

Thats what i figured. Just wondering if there was some huge unknown guy that was rated very highly. Havent been watching the college ball much this year.

I was impressed by Russell, alot. But ND's D is whackola and that apparently was his most impressive perfomance of the year. So i take it with a grain of salt. But i loved the velocity he showed, very promising indeed.

I think Brady, while hyped also doesnt get alot of credit. ND really dont have alot of talent. Had he been at say FU, OSU or USC he might have walked away with the Heisman.

Thats what i was thinking. But i dont know if there is a legitimate MLB to pick at #14. Willis i guess, cant think of much else, Buster Davis from FSU anyone? That Laurentis kid from OSU isnt coming out is he? Harris from MICH, but he hasnt been starting long.

I wouldnt be against Ted Ginn or Jarrett at all. Key may walk anyway.

Landry looked like a beast in LSU's game, but i admit i havent seen him much at all.

I like the DT Okoye from Luisville, shame we dont have the need there. He's only 19, super potential.

It would be the dumbest pick in the history of the Carolina franchise. Leak isn't even remotely close to being a first round worthy QB. Look, football is not really your thing so I'm honestly not holding it against you that you don't know better than to suggest such a thing, but I'm being completely serious when I tell you that it would be an absolutely absurd decision. Maybe some team will make a stupid decision based on the national championship game (did anyone else notice that almost all of Leak's passes were short?), but he's really not much of a pro prospect at all and shouldn't be taken before the 4th round or so, if not later than that.

And despite the poor outing, I'm still extremely high on Troy Smith. He is sound mechanically, has a strong arm and a good throwing motion, is mobile, reads defenses reasonably well, and doesn't throw the ball into coverage. He had a bad game because OSU's play-calling was poor and their offensive line was absolutely horrible, but I still like him and would be very excited to add him in the second round.

    CC:
Give it a rest already. Brady Quinn is not a first round quarterback either. Anyone who actually watches the games and doesn't just buy into the ND hype would see that his arm isn't great, his mechanics are inconsistent, and he makes terrible decisions with the football, especially under pressure. He came up small against every team that got in his face.

Morgan was taken with pick #11. Davis was taken with a #14. Just a small point.
