my guess for the cushion is that they were playing option routes and that was the safe way to defend it

Damn straight you do. If Alex Smith went #1 overall and Leaky won a championship id be doing my damnest to get with Urban.

So who are the TOP 5 QB's this year?

the consensus is that, generally, Quinn/Russell/Brohm (if out) are the top three and all top 20 picks. From there, it's a jumble of lesser talented players including Troy Smith, Drew Stanton, Trent Edwards, Kevin Kolb, Leak, and a cast of others. It's a jumble of 2nd-5th round prospects and it's hard to say at this point where any of them will go and they don't as often go in the way they're projected.

Russell to the Raiders and Quinn to the Lions I'm thinking. I think Russell could be a solid NFL QB, Quinn could easily be the second coming of Joey in Detroit...

Leak is the same size as Drew Breese, Mike Vick, and Rex Grossman. he can make a living in the NFL, just dont see him as a starter. hes smart, and has adapted to three different OC's in four years. he was much better in the pro style offense before Meyer came along.

I tend to agree with that, except he's probably better prepared to adapt mentally because of his coaching.

Leak is the same size as Brett Favre. Same inclination toward mobility too. Not quite the gunslinger /improvisor though.

It’s probably impossible for people to avoid early comparisons and I am just as guilty as anyone probably . .. however I would be much more likely at this point to compare Leak to Danny Wuerffel and even Dameyune Craig before I would begin to try and compare him to Favre and Brady

btw, Leak (that 6' 0" has apparently been rounded up a smidge) is at least two full inches shorter than Favre (6' 2")

I wouldn't take him at 14, but he won't be there by the time we pick again...

Our first two picks need to play right away anyway
