    he ran 'cause he couldn't pass for shit. 66 passer rating is downriight awful. But who knows? Maybe it's a rookie record for incompetence.

    Jones Drew's combined yardage is third-best all-time for a rookie, behind Tim Brown and Gayle Sayers.

    so the 7 rushing TDs (Jones-Drew had 12) make up for the abysmal passing performance? Young had a decent year for a rookie, but he's not even close to rookie of the year. Not even second best.

    If he hadn't been part of the Texas championship team, he wouldn't even have been in the running for the award.

    His final year at Texas led the nation as the best passer didnt he? Give him time he will be fine.The same folks who questioned him in college are doing it now.Maybe he will one day be the qb Brady Quinn is...:laugh2:

    I'm not questioning if he is or will be good. I'm questioning if he was the most deserving of the award.

    what difference does that make?

    so if a rookie QB sits his ass on the bench for 15 games and then gets tossed into starting duty the last game and throws for 300 yards and four TDs he should get ROY consideration?

    based on the numbers Young should have been a distant third, at best.

    Chip pretty much nailed it.
