See what I mean, Clay? McFly isn't dumb, he's just being dumb in this thread. He's obviously wrong, but won't admit it because he doesn't want to. How is being nice going to make him acknowledge that Vick is obviously more valuable than he's been suggesting?

Fuck being nice you fucking cunt! The only VALUE Vick holds is as a runner, it's the only area he is dominant compared to other QB's and the only area that prevents him from bagging fucking groceries. Great arm, yes...athletic, DUH!...Accuracy, nope!...Leadership, hell no...a valuable QB, not yet.

Vick's value has nothing to do with his ability as a QB (the guy who distributes the ball) and everything to do with his ability as a runner. He's little more than a guy missing a 2/3/4 in front of his #7.

 

If you maintain a reasonable countenance, there's a chance you can have a constructive conversation and eventually have him see your way.

If you go into full on asshole mode, that chance immediately evaporates.

 

Well, he ran for over 1000 yards and he's passed for about 2400. He has a positive touchdown to interception ration.

He's not Payton Manning, but his overall productivity puts him in the top 10 of touchdowns and yards.

Wrong. People are not substantively different from other animals, despite our ego telling us otherwise. Shame and stern instruction generally work better than appeals to reason. You could spend the next two weeks politely explaining to McFly why he's wrong, because he obviously is, and you'd achieve nothing. But me pointing out what an idiot he is will hopefully make him more careful about what he says the next time. Is it sheer coincidence that TBR is the most caustic Panthers fan board and the one with generally the best comments? Maybe, but maybe not. I know that I expect to get hammered if I say something dumb, and thus I take an extra minute or so to make sure I have my facts straight.

You aren't good at insults, so don't try. Leave it to people more creative. In any case, no one is arguing that Vick is a good passer. The problem is that you're obviously being ridiculous when you pretend that only his passing skills should be used to evaluate him as a quarterback. If we do that, Vince Young sucks even bigger balls. Vick's running skills have an enormous impact on NFL games, and thus pretending that they don't exist is clearly absurd. You know that, and you know that you're wrong. Your best bet at this point is giving up on this subject and coming back strong on the next one. You clearly have knowledge, but stubbornly arguing a point so obviously wrong isn't doing you any favors.

 

Name one person that is usually more careful because of something you have posted. If anything else, instead of spending two weeks discussing a topic, somebody gets mad and starts to argue back and forth in discussion with you for so long that the original topic is forgotten. Even if you are 100% right the person still thinks they are right and still thinks your an ass. Then they spend their time taking shots at you. Certainly, even in the case where you bring facts beforehand, using attacking modes of persuasion is faulty logic.
