My sources tell me come March

Jake is due a 2 million roster bonus
Weinke is due a 2.7 million roster bonus

Why would they keep both when that money could go to signing a F/A in area of need ?

I don't think Weinke is due that bonus. One of the writers said it was in his contract, but he wasn't likely to earn it. He would have had to play at a pretty high level for most of the year to get it, or something.

I also believe the team is putting this out because they're upset that the issue's being talked about. Kind of a leak to stop the previous leak. Maybe Fox will be annoyed at Henning enough over this to do something about it.

Weinke a 2.7M bonus? Is that right? That hurts my brain.

Only if he reached a bunch of incentives that he pretty much has no shot at reaching.

Yasinskas had a column on it.

I think several of Lucas's chronic injuries have been of a type that would affect his tackling abilities. I have been really surprised by his "under production" this season - last season he was all over and a damned solid tackler. I look for him to bounce back next year because I'm sure he has a chip on his shoulder now. However I would have no issue at all with Marshall nosing out Gamble. One positive this season has been watching Marshall - once he gets a bit more practice and "learns the game", he could be special.

Granted he had injuries this year but I felt like Lucas was slipping towards the end of last year, tackling-wise. I remember cussing him a few times. This year was a continuation, so I'm not sold it's totally his shoulder. Hope he comes out a different player next year or we've wasted a lot of time and money.

The make-up of an NFL roster changes from year to year. I don't expect any major shake-up, nor do I think we need one. Just certain guys out and certain guys in, like any normal offseason.

Crap, I meant to post that in the thread about Gantt saying nothing besides guys getting healthy would change. I didn't mean it in regards to Delhomme at all.
