Its really not a big deal, just annoying to some. You dont have to say anyone is shitting on Peppers, and you dont have to parade around here like youre the fucking Homer Police. Does Peppers have a "mean face"? Some people just have a smiling countenance. I'm not sure Julius can open his mouth without looking like he's smiling. I've known other folks who've gotten into trouble for "not being serious" about something, when the "inappropriate smile" was just their natural expression.

 

Dont ever talk to me about competing. I compete every day. I competed in school, high shcool, semi pro, wrestling, shoot fighting, even now today in the job force. So dont ever talk to me about competing about something in my fucking life. I know about releasing, and any team mate I had will tell you I was a good one. My release was on the field, or in the ring. Thats my fucking release, and when I lost I was devistated.

I made a point about Peppers' personality, and thats what I attribute it to. I find it annoying that he smiles, but thats me. Different people react in different ways. Im not judging him for it at all, so please, dont imply that I am, thats all I ask. Thats so fucking annoying when posting becomes something like this.

Im really not going to get into fucking philosophy about how players should handle a loss, and how its ok to be happy and loose after getting creamed. It was annoying to me. Nothing less, nothing more.

edit---attributing it to knowing the ass already got stomped out. Hm. Dunno, Ive gotten my ass stomped a time or two, and I never smiled about it. I dont think thats what he was smiling about though. He was probably just carrying on conversation, and got caught on the camera. No biggie. Just a bit annoying.

 

People shouldn't get upset about things like that. But yeah, it probably isn't worth the time of effort, because some people are just determined to make something out of nothing.

Julius Peppers is a great athlete, a winner, and he's getting shit on for smiling. People are questioning his heart and will to win over something irrelevant. That does bother me. If you want to call me his personal savior, fine. Good for you.

Questioning Peppers desire is retarded. People don't perform at a high level without a great amout of drive and personal determination. That's why they say that talent is a poor man's wealth. You have to have something extra to become great, and Julius definitely has that. And when he goes into a four or five game stretch without a sack, people immediately assume that he doesn't give a shit anymore, instead of looking for practical reasons. And then, when he goes crazy on Minnesota, these same people want to place him in the Hall of Fame the next day. It's retarded behavior, but considering the people who are doing it, I shouldn't be suprised.

Everybody has a unique personality. You have to acknowledge that. Some people take it hard, some people are soft-spoken or stoic, and some people just don't seem to give a shit. I'd probably put Julius in the second category. Doesn't mean he isn't just as driven, if not moreso than anyone else. I'm sure Tom Landry had a great deal of desire, but that doesn't always have to show on the exterior.

To be fair, I did say "if you're going to shit on Peppers" - I didn't mean you specifically. I apologize if you took it that way. I meant, in general, people who assume that Peppers doesn't care about winning just because he smiles. I don't think you assume that, okay?

When anyone ever sees Peppers not hustling on the field, then you can say something. Until then you can shut the fuck up about what his face looks like during, before, or after the game.
