So I took the wife to see Bob Seger in Nashville this weekend. Seger's opening act is a North Carolina artist named Eric Church. Obvious early Steve Earl influence. Had the whole country lyrics on rock guitar thing going, somewhere between Cross Canadian Ragweed and The Drive-By Truckers in the "grittiness" factor. .

I wasn't expecting much because I'm a little burnt out on the country-rock thing right now, but in the end he put on a good show. The crowd there really got into it, much more than what usually happens when the opening act's name isn't on the bill.

Check him out next time he plays a local club. I bet he puts on an awesome show in a small venue.

This guys is pretty badass. Good music and messed with Rascal Flatts so much on their tour that they kicked him off. He continued to follow them from city to city having the "Me and Myself Tour". I'm all for somebody like that.

Gotta like a guy who goes after Rascal Flatts, but ugh. I picked up the CD today. Every song is an anthem, no depth at all. I'm sure he'll have a lot of success in Nashville, but I think I'll pass. Sucks too, because he has a lot of talent.
