They don't have the talent right now, at WR, with Colston out and Stallworth (rightly) traded away, plus they have two well above average receivers at RB. But they also do run a much more sophisticated and cohesive O than we do. They certainly have a lot better QB play right now and all year.

I don't like chucking it deep to two WRs, and when that doesn't work, screening all day. I'd rather us spread it some.

We may not have the talent they do but we certainly have some. Foster and Williams can both do some damage as recievers. Brees has played great but it is easier to be great when you are dumping off to the backs with great effectiveness.

It's certainly a combo. Talent, and how it's being used. Dumps to the TE are fine on 2nd down, not 3rd and long, or consecutive targets to the TE when down by 10+. You've gotta build a drive, and none of these things help:
deep chucks for no specific reason, run blocking problems netting small yardage on the ground and/or failure in specific running plays, a QB's failures on 3rd down (specifically a problem not here last year, though most of them are), other player execution, 3rd down draws, and dumpoffs on long 3rds.

These don't build drives. You can take a shot, but you have to have a reason it'll connect. Matchup on a DB that's favorable, playaction that matters, a pump fake to freeze the safety, and so on. We just don't ever seem to have a reason to take a shot, we just do it. Those hurt, because you can't always control shitty execution, but we always seem to coach the weird shit (Peppers stunts, deep balls, Keyshawn reverse passes) when we're playing like ass, rather than when we can show we can execute.

I don't see him as much of back-up or starter, get a rookie QB for pocket change.

    After 2nd INT.

if you need a punter, John James is seriously thinking about coming our of retirement. he can also hold the ball on kickoffs if the wind keeps knocking it off the tee.

I think the number they quoted was 34 because i remember thinking, only 19 guys stuck. That new coaching staff is fucking awesome. We can only hope that next year there will be enough history on them to game plan effectively against them . . . or is Payton building a Belichick-like fortress down there?

lets see them win a playoff game first...not that I think they won't but talking dynasty before even getting a playoff win is extreme
