I was feelin' it for Brown too and wish we had kept him

Posted it a while back but no response. Is it possible that we would try and get Dielman away from the chargers? Have no idea what he would cost

Dielman's of interest because of an ESPN article. Nothing more. I don't buy him as the Steve Hutchinson, and without Jones or Alexander, Hutchinson doesn't look that good. Dielman's not the reason LT's good. He's just a decent lineman. I don't want to be bitchy about that, but I know a lot of people will want us to spend big on Dielman because they read an article.

Honestly, I don't care. If we get a veteran RG, we'll be better than we are. We're not going to get a hulking pilemover, though, and I honestly hope we don't spend tons of money. A veteran to fight with Mathis, I'd take that, because a vet should be able to beat Mathis. In the end, get the guys on the field that should be on the field, and we'll be better. Still not elite, and we'll still have our occasional problems with Gross and Wharton. But we should be able to run, and block the interior well enough that you can choose to chip one end.

Goings stays. I really want to see him return KOs again.

We need to make a fundamental change IMHO. We either get the personnel to be a run first team (meaning some big power OL) or we go to a pass first offense (meaning we find a tight end who can catch and use him). Either way we need to get away from forcing a square peg in a round hole.

    He was OK.
We need a new STs coach, and I don't say that in a fit of rage. We flat out suck in everything except the two kickers, which is basically down to their own talent and effort.

And with that, comes a return specialist of talent. Goings getting 24 yards running straight ahead is better than 20 yards by a rookie CB who's supposed to only be a PR, but it's really not enough to make Goings fulltime KR.

But he'll probably be back anyway, and if he's the other deep back, cool. I'm not even that into DW in the role.

and an elite left tackle, while we're at it. I believe they'll keep our two OTs from opening day, and I'm allright with that, if we're trying to be a balanced team that does some deep passing but a fair amount more of running and shorter passing. If we're going to be pass first, we need a better tackle.

Yea we probably do need a better LT if we are going to be a pass first team. Our offense really does not have anything thing that it does really well to hang its hat on. We have Steve Smith but having one really good player is not really an identity for an offense. I would be happy if we got rid of Henning and brought in someone with a plan for the offense. We can be a power running team or we can be a passing team or we can run a variation of the WCO but we need to have some kind of plan. Right now it does not look like there is a direction at all.

We don't have Smith to hang our hat on, now. Jake was forcing passes to him at times, but for the most part, the last few games were just contained by defenses and it made no sense to go to him when we did, if we weren't going to try something new. We didn't, of course.

BTW, I don't see us pulling that new LT, and they don't just grow on trees.

Just watching the Saints in the first half today they involve a lot of people in their passing game. They go to tight ends and backs as much or more than the wide outs. Our offense seems to only throw to the wide outs. While our talent on offense is not great it seems like we could get a lot more out of them.
