Kemo hasn't been the problem. Unfortunately, he hasn't been the solution, and that's what we brough him here for.

Agree with everyone mentioned, esp Minter. What about Jenks? Yes, we need him, but we're paying him a ton. He's just slightly better than average.

We'll get a starting safety and a backup safety. Good enough.
I don't believe they'll make upgrades at TE or WLB, and honestly, I don't know that they'll do much on the line. And with who is hurt, I can't totally blame them. But I'm to the point where I don't believe Mathis is the guy and I don't believe Hangartner is a guard, either.

He's had that mistake. And his speed isn't "great". But he's beaten guys, and he catches the ball most times. I would certainly rather have him here than not, and I'd rather have him here than get charged cap space for him anyway and start a guy who couldn't stay active rather than Taye fucking Biddle.

    Foster? No. There's no reason.

you really want to do this right?

    Start with FAs.

    >>Branch, Colin
    Bridges, Jeremy

gone. Bridges was OK, but he's just a backup, and unless you keep him just for that, we can do better. We can probably get better backups there.
Same for Branch, who'll probably go somewhere else, start, and look good.

    >>Carstens, Jordan DT RFA
    >>Carter, Drew WR RFA

stay. No first round tenders, please.

    >>Ciurciu, Vinny LB UFA
    >>Diggs, Na'il LB UFA
    >>Draft, Chris LB UFA

If these three were ably replaced, go. If Draft sits with a rook at MLB, I can handle that. Ciurciu really needs to never be here again.

    >>Fordham, Todd OT UFA

    Never was good enough.

    >>Gaines, Michael TE RFA

    keep. For one year.

    >>Goings, Nick RB UFA

torn. We can always stash him at FB, but we could get better at FB. Shelton is technically good enough.
We'll probably keep him, though we don't have a specific need to do so other than his versatility.

    >>Moorehead, Kindal DT UFA

I don't get why they like him so much right now. He makes Jenkins' mistakes with no payoff.

    Morton, Christian CB ERFA
    Peters, Scott OG RFA
    Salley, Nate S ERFA
    Samp, Chris C ERFA
    Seidman, Mike TE UFA

none of these players are worth keeping. Seidman almost looked like he was doing well as a starter, though we have 3 crappy TEs already.

    >>Williams, Shaun S UFA

almost. If we didn't have the problems back there, we could gamble with him. We do, so we can't wait for him to be healthy enough or productive in the right ways.

We really have no one as a free agent we can't replace. We're lucky in that many of our FAs are places we need to replace anyway.

    Under contract:
I'm fine with cutting Ma'ake, though he'll probably cost a ton to cut and Lewis isn't a fulltime starter anyway. What we do here won't bother me either way, though. For a year, having Carstens back Lewis liberally on run downs is fine, and then we need a 4th* DT to put behind Jenkins.

We've got the far-offhand chance we cut Rucker or Delhomme, which I don't see happening, and wouldn't do. Minter probably won't go, and so we'll have to deal with one more year of it. But we'll get better, hopefully, at the other spot, and have a backup there to take over for MM. Let him see enough writing on the wall, and maybe he'll bow out gracefully. If not, we've cut better players than him.

There aren't a lot of other highly paid guys to go after, IMO. Key, to me, is safe. We could get rid of Colbert and find a 4th WR/RS, and I'm fine with that, but there's not much savings in doing so. I don't care if Howard's back or not. Lucas really isn't cuttable, and he earned a little benefit of the doubt. If we could trade off Gamble, I'd do that - he's just too soft. But he's talented, and someone might pull that out.

And Crossman's gotta go, so maybe Hankton can go.

*awesome. We cut Brown for Moorehead, who's not as good, and is a free agent. Though I knew this in camp, it still sucks. And now we need a DT, after spending $20 mil, a 3rd round pick, and picked up a veteran in two years.
