If anything, the decrease in deep balls have more to do with the way we are being defended. And it's not really been that much of a decrease, just in success rate.

    >>He'll stay in there and throw,

    Too long, and too late.

    >> Weinke has a better deep ball IMO, because he drops it on the WR.

We throw arguably more deep balls in this offense than we should. And I don't see a lot of underthrows by Jake, some, but some overthrows and some right on the money. It's part of the reason it's a low percentage play, it's more about timing. Historically, Jake throws a pretty and catchable deep ball. The TD pass vs the Rams this year was nice.

yeah, smitty gets his ass jammed off then doubled, and Key is so slow that he could probably be covered by most OLBs . . .

HMMM...........just an idea............you guys smash all your QB's. What about a little help from the running game? Then your QB's might actually be able to play normal football. Weinke shouldn't have had to throw the ball 60 some times. He hasn't played in how long. He really didn't do that bad. At least he was able to find another receiver which Del homo isn't able to do.

Next week won't be the game to try and establish the run though. They probably won't have much luck with that. Just keep passing, our secondary is terrible.

The Running game's problems have been the biggest problem this year, SG. Most would agree to that.

    Nobody has argued that.

    More the run blocking, though.

For a rusty QB that does not take snaps with the 1st team
Weinke looked good, alot of his passes early on were on the spot and dropped B/C WR's were not use to balls getting there that fast.

For the ints no more or less than Jake who does take snaps with the 1st team

lots of yards for a 2nd string QB
mobile was not sacked as often as Jake behind the same O-Line
    Ran the shotgun
timming was off with some WR's

Weinke did everthing but win the game

Weinkie had some bad picks but in fairness we were behind pretty quickly and he had to throw the ball a ton. Like most QBs if he had a good running game to help him and a solid defense then he would have done a lot better. The problems with our team are much deeper than the QB.
