I'd like to put them both under the knife and hack them up, piece them back together with Weinke's long ball and pocket presence and Jakes leadership and moxy...and Jake's abilty to throw to the left.:silly2:

pocket presence? Standing in the pocket not moving, and waiting too long to throw isn't pocket presence

Jake can at least throw deep to both sides of the field, which is helpful.

I'm not sure why the idea that Jake has trouble with the deep ball comes from.

both guys just chuck balls up there and our offense doesn't do anything to draw a safety away

    that's the gist of it

Key is slow, Smitty was hobbled for a while and double and triple teamed. Carter disappeared until today. IMO Jake lost a big hunk of his confidence in going deep for lack of being able to do it. Then you have the apparent fact that our OC all but stopped trying to go deep . . . Did Jake lose confidence first or did our play caller(s)?

Well, we are a take a shot offense.

Like, every other pass until we get down.

Hell, we may lead the league in low percentage home run balls.

He'll stay in there and throw, rather than tossing mechanics out the window and chucking it off his back foot. Weinke has a better deep ball IMO, because he drops it on the WR. Jake will too often throw it short, although sometimes that is the best place to put it.

BOTH have thier issues, not saying one is better than the other. Jake wins games or has in the past. If Weinke could flip his TD/INT ratio, he'd be the better option by far...but then there's always going to be that throwing to the left thing.

I am just trying to find something positive. Weinke doensn't deserve to shoulder the blame again and he never really did in the first place.
