ESPN @ 0330 says Jake tipped off pass.

    From Sheppard post game interview....

The Panthers then drove to the Eagles' 7 and were in control with two timeouts and 28 seconds remaining. Sheppard noticed Delhomme pat his backside, leading him to believe, based on his film study, that Johnson would run a fade to the corner. Sheppard played it perfectly and beat Johnson to the corner to make the acrobatic interception.

They showed a replay, and Jake slapped his butt X 2,took the snap then threw the PASS.

Sheppard said he ran to the corner, and knew the pass was going there.... Jake say it ain't sooooo.

It fucking pisses me off that another team can figure this shit out but the QB coach and OC can't.

Agreed. Had he not been having panic attacks all game and intentionally grounding the ball 14 times, we wouldnt have been in that situation to begin with. Or airmailing his scheduled "punt", or...

I cant see how Weinke isnt better. I never saw his play as poor as JD has been the last few weeks. And dont forget before you start bashing CW that he was a rookie in 2001, playing on a horrible team.

Well, take all of Jake's weaknesses, and then cripple him on all throws past 15 yards to the left, make his dropbacks slower, make his release slower, and then you have Weinke.

    Thats what they told Ruettiger...

I think what CW gives you that JD doesnt is the ability to stand in the pocket, and think about what the hell he is doing. Seems to be JD's problems are in his head at this point, he is making more and more plays every week without thinking. I hope Im wrong, but how do you fix that? I dont think you can, not quickly anyway.

And who the fuck did he play in the pros for?

I don't think that's the major issue right now. A couple bad situations under duress - two of which were grounding calls, very late after the play ended - otherwise, most of the time when nothing was there he was downing the ball, doing his best not to take the sack, I didn't see but the one big mental mistake down the field. Costly, and on him, certainly.

agree, agree (Stallworth pinned his arm but was not called), and agree. next time Davis should just spear the QB in the chest. I am sick of the damn bubble the QB's are in. QB is as much of a football player as a damn kicker right now.

First, dont get all pissy. I'm trying to have a valid discussion.

Second, the problem is that the lack of judgement by JD costs us big in every game.

    From the Disturber today:

    Week 7 at Cincinnati 14-10 17-14
End zone interception stops drive after Panthers move to Bengals 10 with four minutes left.
    Week 8 Dallas 14-10 35-14
Three 4th-quarter turnovers set up 21 Dallas points.
    Week 12 Washington 13-10 17-13
Panthers stopped twice inside Washington 35 in last four minutes, including end zone interception with one minute left.
    Week 13 Philadelphia 21-14 27-24
Panthers reach Eagles 7, but are intercepted in end zone with 28 seconds left.

I have played enough sports in my time to recognize that there is no way the Panthers coaching staff is doing all it can with Jake. When he is pressured he pisses down his leg.

They should run drills at practice that make him feel pocket pressure- that actually force him to either tuck and run, throw away, or take the sack W/O HIM EVER actually considering a pass in play...... Train him like a dog, not to flip those lame wounded ducks passes sideways off his hip.
