my step-daughter lived in Seattle for a couple of years and she said that the reason no one in Seattle has satellite is because they get so much heavy rain that it affects the signal.

I would say if you live in Seattle proper, Bellevue or Redmond that Comcast just cannot be beat for price and quality. If you live beyond the metro area, there are plenty of dishes however. Normally Charlotte has heavier rainfall and more per year than Seattle. They usually just have lots of drizzle, however this year a 50 year record has been broken and being reset every day.

Wow, I'd never have thought that, having lived out there in the mid '70's. Rained two of every three days, at least.

I spent Thanksgiving at my brother's house in Alexandria, VA. They couldnt get TW to show up, so they got Dish. He did not know if he had NFLN, but he did. It must have been part of the basic.

I don't think this Gumbel brother was the one who was on GMA. I think it was the one who was doing the studio for CBS. Greg, not Bryant, I guess. My sister-in-law, who just started watching football when they got married several years ago, was able to tell me that.

We had the same problem. TWC promised me I'd have cable by Thanksgiving, then Wed., the (2nd) scheduled installation day,the guy tells me "sorry we can't do it today." Needless to say I wasn't happy since I was hosting Thanksgiving. I called Yinzer to tell him what had happened. Some Direct TV people happened to overhear our conversation. They came over immediately, and installed it. They even laughed about all the TW cables running through my yard, and how it wouldn't have been hard to do for me. Needless to say, I will never be a TWC customer again. :waving:
