Shouldn't the NFL be held responsible a little as well. They are asking for a shitload of money from the cable guys who will in turn pas it on to us. Seems like they could come to some sort of agreement

forget for a second that I work for TWC....

as a football fan, and cable subscriber, I would love to be able to purchase the NFL Sunday Ticket. The NFL has made it available ONLY to satellite subscribers. That's the way it has always been, and if the NFL had a brain, they would make that package available to cable systems too. For all the cable systems out there, how would a PPV package like that one be a money loser?

Would I love to have NFL Network? Absolutely. The fact that the cable companies are trying to make a deal that won't be a substantial cost increase to its current subscribers is the right thing, IMO. Not every cable subscriber is a football fan--I know my wife wouldn't watch football if she was not married to me. She would not be willing to pay a fee increase to make NFL Net available on basic if she were not married to me.

I am not saying that all things cable are done correctly--like any other business they have their flaws and issues. I think the NFL Net thing makes the cable ops look better, not being held hostage by the demands of the NFL Net.

    Just my :2cents:

I also had my eyes opened a little after talking to a buddy of mine with Direct TV. To get the NFL network he has to pay an additional $12.95 a month for the sports package. This package includes Speedweek, some outdoor channel, all the Fox Sports and the Golf Channel as well as the NFL Network. The NFL Network isn't on any basic cable service. I love the NFL but I already have 2 season tickets ($1500 a year) and more team paraphernalia than most families. How much do you want NFL?

NFL is not blameless, especially when it comes to the stuff like Sunday Ticket.

But in this instance, there is a large precedent in which NFL Network is included with the basic subscription. Several cable companies along with DISH and DirecTV already support it.

Time Warner wants to be able to charge you for a premium sports tier (NFL Network, NBA TV, Tennis TV (lol) and other stuff).

both sides are being greedy, but at least the NFL's side has precedent and doesn't screw the consumer over too badly.

Why do you have 2 Tickets?
