Key's taken some, but Carter's also just seen the field less - even seeing Colbert some. I don't remember him being prone to drops around that time, and benching him for that would be silly considering Key and Smith were big offenders there.

Don't know. He's a powerful player, and I like him on the field.

I was thinking about that while watching the game the other day...he's been MIA. Gotta think that something happened somewhere, cuz he played well when he was on the field.

Could be an undisclosed injury or illness (no, not AIDS) that's kept him off the field. Who knows. We can only speculate so much, but we really have no idea what goes on behind the scenes. Colbert certainly did not play his way into the #3 spot.

    Gotta see more of him.

We haven't seen three wides much. Colbert has been in abit more when we went 3 wides, but I'm not sure that's indicative of anything.

So I'm bored today.....looked at our pass distribution this year and compared to last year. VERY similar.

    WR's - 62% in '05, 64% in '06 to date (up 2%)
    RB/FB - 25% in '05, 26% in '06 to date (up 1%)
    TE's - 13% in '05, 10% in '06 to date (down 3%)

Thought I MIGHT see more passes to the backs, Jake checking down, and that it may explain Drew's lack of catches. But the change in pass distribution is statistically insignificant.

Then I looked at WR's specifically. This year, our top two WR's, Smitty and Key have caught 54% of all passes thrown. Last year our top THREE WR's (Smitty, Proehl, Colbert) caught 57% of all passes thrown.

LASTLY, I looked at '03 (when Smitty and Moose were healthy). They accounted for 53% of completions, almost identical to Smitty/Key's 54% this year. Our third WR that year was Proehl who caught 27 balls (10%). Our fourth WR was Kevin Dyson who caught TWO. Total. This year Drew Carter is on pace to catch 22 passes and Colbert to catch 7......almost identical to Proehl's production in 2003.

So it's our offense/QB, not anything with Drew Carter.
