There is a glaring misconception that you need a big running back to convert on short yardage. You don't. All you need is good lean and lower body strength, both of which DeAngelo has.

As solid as Rucker is against the run, Peppers is the best in the league. Flipping them would be a bad idea.

    magnus:
McClover was a standout on special teams in preseason, so it's not as if he "can't earn playing time." He's inactive strictly because of the numbers game. Fox thinks we need help at other positions more than we need a 4th DE, and I can't really blame him, although I still don't know what McAdam brings to the table.

Just curious as to how you know this? Could it be that you spend a good bit of time behind the 7-11?

Implying that I want to be "contrarian" inevitably implies that I have something to be contrarian against. You're flagelation from your derriere implyed nothing of importance to me. Why should I bother?

FYI, my favorite website is http://www.asian-sirens.com/blog/weblog.php.

Now to football, I was right, you were wrong. How many times must I explain this to you?

BTW Collin, I am the typical hawk liberal who is kicking your ass in "stay the course." Democrats > Republican pussies 2006.

Eat that scrambling QB with an accurate arm, you Halas dick-sucking cranky old (young) man.

well, at risk of pushing the thought further, he keeps 8 DB active. Almost always has. Then again, he'd usually keep 4 DE active. It's not that there's a lack of quality issue, but I don't remember if his quality in blocking was up to par, and that's one of the things that position does.

The secondary is flat out awful!!!

Gamble,............. just what are you doing?

This is a good team, not a great team, if we get lucky and Fox can get these guys on the right page, maybe (if we beat the Cowboys) we can make the playoffs. If we lose to the Cowboys, we are done!!:coffee2:

I keep seeing the replay of the 4th and 1, and keep seeing Gamble running stride for stride, then he either slows down or Johnson speeds up, and Gamble does absolutely nothing on a completely playable ball.

Yeah he looked back upfield then back at Johnson for several steps just running with him (during which time I figured the ball was on it's way). Wish there was a split screen showing when Palmer threw it. Had Gamble contested it there was a great chance he knocks it down or even picked it.

The opposing Os are pretty basic in preseason. Maybe the gameplanning to fool him worked pretty well.
