Don't want to pick on him, but it seems like he played an entire game and I barely saw him.
Which was a criticism I had of him in 05 when he was competing - it seems like he's barely involved. Am I that far off with this? Williams was all over the field, even banged up.

Is it a bad thing to not notice your safety?

I remember him being in on one play, but I'm not sure how much he was targeted on Sunday.

    Sometimes.

    Sometimes, it isn't.

Against an offense like Tampa, I'm not sure he could make much of a difference, anyway. As long as he doesn't get caught on PA, which I don't believe he did.

even when the D was doing very well in preseason, you saw Williams and Minter. Branch just doesn't seem that involved, I just don't know if it's because he's playing too conservatively, or if he's just being put out in far, far left center field where Williams isn't.

If you're talking about Shaun Williams, he wasn't on the field Sun. against TB. He was deactivated for the game.

I"m very well aware. It compares Williams and Branch playing the same position in different games.

I do not remember hearing his name much either.

We gave up less than 160 yards passing, correct? Alex Smith was the main player giving us trouble for our defense and I do not know if this was Branch's responsibility. The Galloway TD seemed to be a bad judgement by Lucas. I do not think there was much drop off coverage wise.

Branch did not have many tackles and probably does not play the run as well, but our LBs played better overall.
