definitely, on both. Jordan's really gotta get right.

He was better. I'd almost call him "good" :gaga: and yeah, he's had some fairly close calls, one today and a few in the past two weeks, but he's going to take chances and if that's the worst that happens with chances, that's not bad. Could be worse, has been worse.

it was brought, it seemed, but we were prepared. Props to Hangartner for calls and to Mathis as well for simply not screwing up.
it usually doesn't look as good when he holds the ball and won't get rid of it. Same as it didn't look as good with a less decisive Beuerlein or Peete. You have to get the ball out. Of course, with Jake, you can't hope for him to force too many balls in there, all the same. I can't underestimate his ability this week and seemingly all year to throw the ball away more than he has in years past. Either way, the empty set's supposed to be a quick hitter, and you obviously can't run it just for the QB draw.

Knowing Delhomme's inherent tendencies, having a LT that doesn't suck would be preferred. Sucks about Wharton, but a top-10 pick should be able to put out better than this. Dogshit.

JD could be better served by popping tranquilizer or five from about 9/1 to 10/1.

Because magnus irritated me, I went ahead and broke down the passing game. Jake had attempts of -4, -4, -3, -1, 0, 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 3, 3, 4, 5, 6, 6, 6, 7, 9, 10, 12, 12, 13, 13, 13, 14, 15, 18, 18, 21, 22, 23, and 27 yards, along with others that were tipped at the line and one where Jake was hit as he released it. 15 of Jake's 22 completions came on his 20 passes of 10 yards or less between the line of scrimmage and the receiver. 127 of Jake's 272 yards were yards gained after the catch. 5 passes were badly overthrown, with one of them presumably being a decision by Jake to throw it away since Hoover was covered (in contrast, Jake overthrew his receivers 7 times against Minnesota on 21 attempts of beyond 5 yards). Several others were thrown high but were caught by leaping receivers. Three passes probably should have been intercepted, including one at 6:50 in the 2nd where Delhomme threw to Carter in double coverage and it bounced off of Phillips' hands, another at 2:53 in the 2nd which bounced off of Shelton Quarles' chest, and another at :49 left in the game which bounced off of Torrie Cox's hands.

1 int in 3 games. These DB's better start catching these balls, or he might just end the year with 7-9 picks.

    Gross sucks.

In general I think Jake's decision making has been better this season than it was for much of last season, but he's got to be more accurate. Today was better, but he was still inaccurate too often.

And yeah, Gross is a total bust for an 8th overall pick. *sigh*

    Gross sucks.

Jake needs to chill. He gets too wired up in September. Mellow out, young lad.

Coaches deserve some blame for the fumbles (not all of it). We've seen this song and dance with the empty under center. Delhomme has been picked off quite a few times over the years out of this formation. He's also lost a good many fumbles from it. You'd think, with 69 at LT, and a scab at RT, we would would avoid this formation (or at least not run it with the frequency that they do). But they stay with it, and it hurts this offense more than it helps. Jake's near fumble that was overruled vs. Minnesota last week was out of empty, under center. When you have a feel for JD’s tendencies, why continue to put him in a position to fail? He has limits, and sometimes, I think this staff forgets that.

Shotgun? Jake is much better from the gun, even on the road. Underutilized.

Jesus. You need to fucking chill. Im sick and tired of hearing you tell people to chill. You say it like its all thats needed to make everything ok.

And to say people need to stop talking about Delhomme sailing balls because he's always done it? Well shit, thats kind of retarded. ANd the fact that balls are hitting DBs and linebackers in the hands and they arent catching them makes us lucky, it doesnt make Jake unaccountable.

Fact is, when Jake is protected well, hes a damn solid quarterback. When hes pressured just a bit, hes fucking horrid. Fuck his pussy ass. I dont and wont sit back and be okay with a goddamn quarterback who cant hold the fucking ball worth a goddamn piss. And Im not going to sit back and be content with a win and chill just because we won, and not talk about things that are terribly wrong.

Also, quite frankly, Im getting tired of seeing the dude wave his fucking arms around, and yell at others after he fumbles because the pussy cant take a hit in a sport thats predicated off of them.

Go around the league. See Eli. See others, whose balls are actually being picked off. I don't speak in theory, I speak in fact. Facts say that JD has 1 int in three games. Now, it that to say that he doesn't sail his balls? Of course not, dickweed. That's not what I said, and you should know better than that. He's been lucky--in fact, he's been lucky for most of his career. But he's peppered in some decent play along the way. It's not all bad, and it sure as hell ain't all good. As we are accustomed to hearing, "It is what it is." I do not have the equipment, time or patience to break down each of his throws from each game. That's someone else's department. Thus, I will never approach this forum as a place to pontificate on subject matter of which I am not entirely qualified to speak.

Everyone who picks up a check is accountable. As has been noted, JD has single-handedly thrown away some plays which led to losses for us. A couple last year, and a few more before that. He's a small part of an otherwise pedestrian offensive attack that, when in stride, can be as glorious as any this side of Indy. But when he's shit, he's shit.
