Did we get a little conservative (O & D) when we were up so far? Seemed like we had Simms where we wanted him, eased up and gave him enough time to get some confidence and then we were just reeling. Have to hand it to Simms, he's not throwing in the towel even though just about everyone was shitting on him.

I was looking for more blitzes as it got later in the game. It seems like we sometimes save things for later. I didn't notice it pick up though.

It was a heat index of 100 or so - once our offense started stinking it up, our defense may have just run out of gas? When the hell is Alstott going to retire?

I think he does some, but not as much as I expected. I think he's better than Buckner, or anyone else that was available to us, but not as good as what we paid for. I don't think it was a gross overpay. Premium DTs get about 7-8 mil a year, I bet. I think we paid him about 5. He was probably worth about 3 or 4. I think he's better than average.

He's ours for awhile, so lets coach him, and see what happens.

LB's suck in coverage so we may as well send them.

I'm just so happy we won this game. We have problems, sure, but I certainly don't think they are beyond repair. We did a good job picking up many of those blitzes. The line did another patchwork job this week. The sacks are no good, but Jake needs to do a better job of keeping both hands on the ball.

Gritty, gritty effort. Most teams would not be able to come back from such drastic momentum changes, but we hung tough. We were absolutely determined to win this game. I'm proud as hell of our guys.

I think this was the 1st game Cadilac Williams was healthy. Once they got a few good runs from him, it seemed to energize their whole team. I also think they started heavily covering Smith. Once they figured out he really couldnt run fast, they may have backed off on that some. He was as quick as ever, but he didnt seem all that fast to me today.

About 90% I'd say. He still had some good quickness, finding that soft spot in the zone for the first, the skinny post that set up Key's second touch, and of course the 41 yarder.

I think the best way to explain it is that we didn't lose.
