Martin's day will come. Next preseason game he'll line up against former Paladin teammate Cam Newton, 2nd string FS for the Falcons.

as we all know, it wouldn't be the first time that a qb just up and quit.

Favre isn't going to do that to his teammates in the middle of preseason, especially when he just got finished doing an interview with ESPN days before where he talked about how re-invigorated he was and how much he wanted to play, regardless of how the team's record may turn out.

maybe. it seems shakey at best when he says the reason he didn't retire was because of phil simms on the radio. but honestly, what everyone knows, is that he should've retired, and that's what everyone is expecting.

how many ints last season? 29? he's going to be chucking those balls around again willy-nilly this year, because what else do the packers have?

This is exactly why he needed to come back, because ignorant people just assume that he's done and incapable of playing at a high level anymore. I'm surprised that your memory is so short considering that we all held our breath when Favre almost single-handedly beat us in Week 4 last season. As I've already pointed out, Brett had 1571 yards, 14 tds, and 8 ints through his first six games last year. It was after that, when the team came apart at the seams, that he lost it. He's going to be far, far better this year than almost anyone is predicting.

Would anybody here honestly read the above statement and infer that Favre was going to retire?

I sure wouldn't, and yet PFT wants to blame the station :77321_bs:

They're not always wrong. In recent years they've upped their "correctness" to somewhere in the 50% range.

But man when they reach, they reach.

not once did i say anything about his ability.
i said what else do the packers have? other than him taking it upon himself to make a cubic zirconium out of a pile of shit.

and that's when the haphazzard interceptions start getting flung around.

that team has been on a steady decline for years now. they both need to put each other in the rear view mirror and move on.

Elevating you out of your enormous ignorance is tiring when you display this smartass attitude. I'm sorry you don't know who Donald Driver is, but he's a Rod Smith-type who is one of the more underrated receivers in the league. It's apparent that you don't know who Darryn Colledge and Jason Spitz are either, even though we talked about Colledge extensively before the draft. They're two first day draft picks who will be Green Bay's starting guards, the positions that caused the most problems for the Packers last season on the offensive line.

It isn't immediately clear who will step in opposite Driver, but they have Robert Ferguson and second round pick Greg Jennings. Then at tight end they still have this guy named Bubba Franks, and in the backfield it isn't too likely that Ahman Green and Najeh Davenport will both experience season-ending injuries again, although Gado was pretty good even when they did. Plus the Packers added quite a bit of talent on defense, so Favre won't feel as pressured to win games by himself, and thus won't do such a good job of losing them by himself. Brett wasn't bullshitting when he talked about the team's talent, they just need to put it together. It actually wouldn't shock me to see them win the NFC North.

    how hard could that be?

chicago has a good defense and special teams...other than that the entire NFC North stinks.
