Aside from Christian McCaffrey, who has been significantly better than I thought he would be, this is a pretty depressing list. Some of the other players are solid contributors, but overall this just isn't nearly enough talent added over the last five years, which means that the team's fortunes in any particular game are heavily dependent upon the stars (Cam, Kuechly, Short, and now McCaffrey) carrying the rest of the roster to victory. Add in how Gettleman's insane contracts hamstrung the team's ability to add talent through free agency and these drafts just haven't been good enough to be competitive week in and week out with the best teams in the conference. Contrast this list with who the Saints have drafted over the last five years. After yesterday's abysmal performance, I thought it might be time for the front office to blow this up and start over, but trading players for draft picks only helps if you turn those draft picks into good players. The secondary has been a liability for three years now, and decreased production at defensive end illustrates what happens to these defensive backs when quarterbacks have time to pick their targets.

Where does 2016 stack up against our other worst drafts? Right now I think it's looking pretty bad. I'm not going to shit on Gettleman for 2014, because he got some guys who are still in the league four years later. 2015 is a decent draft and still helping the Panthers. We got three quality players in 2017, and it would have been four if Hurney hadn't of stuck with Gano. And 2018 looks like a pretty good draft to me still. But 2016... eww...

Turner is the only thing that saves 2014 from being a pointless draft. It's hard to say what 2015 would like if Williams hadn't gotten injured because he looked good for a stretch last season and this line could sorely use him, but Funchess is just a generic body at wide receiver. I don't think Samuel is anything special either.

That’s shit for 5 fucking drafts. Heads need to roll. I guess I should have left Butker on there too cause he’s damn good but we struck with Gano and now that seems a huge mistake.

Is it Gettleman's fault that we don't have KB or Boston now? Or that Bene got fat and unmotivated? Or is that more on the coaching staff? Serious question.
