My only concern is over the Turner Family Fiefdom that we're establishing on the coaching staff. Scott is very, very likely to succeed Norv, and there's no evidence that Scott is qualified. There's drawbacks. That being said, the leap in overall competence from Shula is MASSIVE. Norv is universally praised, and frankly loved, by every quarterback he's been with, including a couple of great ones. I'm mostly excited about scrapping Shula's Techmo Bowl running game, though. Turner has coordinated the NFL's leading rusher five different seasons. He also throws to his running backs - a lot. McCaffrey should be very excited about how much play he's going to get.

 

Newton needs this A LOT.

 

Out of football this past season, Turner co-wrote the country song "Things I've Never Done" with singer Steven Ray, the son of former NFL head coach and current NFL analyst Steve Mariucci.

 

It had promise, but it always felt more complex than it needed to be.
