Interesting choice, but not the right one. That program could pick from almost anyone.

that can be determined in a few years. For now, they went with the "safe" and cheap pick. I'll give him a chance...never know. If it wasn't for his defense, this team would have been a whole lot worse. But then again, this doesn't fix the problems on offense.

The internets wanted an offensive minded coach, or at least, some new blood. And the whole search seemed like a cheap farce. I wonder how much miami paid for the super valuable services of the legend named Chuck Neinas. Kinda proved worthless.

I don't think they have the money to pay for anyone. I think with the money yeah they could.

they still could have paid for 2 mill a year. But with buying out coker and then having to buy out a rich rod or schiano, then giving a 2 mill/year salary, yeah it would have cost a bit.

I just don't think many wanted to be the guy right after coker.

yeah, he's a good DC. And he could be decent. But they went safe - way too safe. "we're under probation" type safe.

Of course, they land a top OC and all bets are off, but the hard part is having a guy with no HC experience trying to control a heavily touted coordinator.

there's no real reason to bitch about it though. He's the coach now and they aren't going to fire him after a year unless he loses every game. Next year is already a rough road schedule. No need to add bitching about a coach on top of that..at least coker is gone.

Players might not be as kicked in the ass as hard as a new regime would either.

I'm not bitching about it. I just think they could've hired someone better. I have no direct concern one way or the other for the UM program.
And this last year's team could use a kick in the ass, honestly.
