Has anyone every had any bad side effects with this? I fucked up my back somehow and my doctor has me on it for 1 week. I remember my sis in law (She has MS) was on it and blew up like a Christmas Day float. I am assuming she was on it for a while and that's what caused it. Someone told me increased hunger and thirst. Anyone?

You should have listened to Pi's exercise advice and this never would have happened.

    Pi's gone.

Paul- you might get over anxious and be more hungry but the dose they put you on for this type of inflammation is minimal and will be over quickly.

That stuff puts me in orbit.... I avoid it at all costs.

My wife was on it when her lupus was active from '96 to '98. She blew up like a balloon, especially in the face. There's actually a name for that -- "moon face". Jerry Lewis had it during one of his Labor Day telethons a couple of years ago, IIRC.

Other than that, the severity of the side effects depends on the dosage. She was only able to sleep about 3-4 hours a night, and had a lot of hair growing in places it normally wouldn't on a lady. It was murder to her self esteem. :frown:

It also caused necrosis in her right hip, which eventually had to be replaced.

expect to gain a good five to ten pounds per cycle. Most of it is fluid though and can be resolved with a diuretic and a little more exercise

i had to do prednisone for a week last month for some spinal swelling. except for a couple of nights of being unable to get to sleep, no problems. just follow the directions the doc gave you.

and enjoy your new pants after the weight gain

:yikes: My back and hip are 60% better. I am going to continue the stuff for the week I have it but am going to try to walk on the treadmill at a real easy pace and watch what I eat. Maybe up the water intake as well to help flush
