for what it's worth, Richardson did not have a media availability. he met with reporters at Yasinskas' going away lunch. It was the beat writers that were in attendance. JR stopped to wish Pat well, and they grilled JR (ok, just asked him some questions). A very informal gathering has now become a "major" event.

That kind of weirdness probably gave Peppers the fear.

Run the ball and stop the run.

That is what we keep hearing from Fox and even from JR. We can stop the run fairly well most of the time. How do we start running it well. We have never been a good running team. Even the one year Stephen Davis was on fire we were not an elite running team.

To be a physical team that can run the ball I think we have to scrap the whole OL and start over. We have no big maulers who can blow defenders off the ball.

Makes me think we'll be going O-line or D-line in the draft, which most people believe we'd do anyway. FA will be another matter. Richardson said he forsees a busy offseason. It's hard to forcast what will happen in FA though and of course that will partly affect the draft.

Its good to see JR giving Fox/Hurney his support,,,,, and also doing it in a very calm and professional manner,,,,, I "do" believe JR is a very classy owner for many reasons.

However, the problem I see this team having right now is not only personnel not producing, but this team is missing some bigtime FIRE. Kris Jenkins may have been wrong to give his famous "no-heart" speech to the press, but what he said was dead on.

After this team sucking the last part of 06, and now the majority of 07,,, I'm thinking JR's calm approach was a bit late. IMO, I'm not saying he needs to fire anyone, but I definitely think its time for him to rattle some cages. But thats just me.

David Carr as your starting QB will rip the heart out of a team. With a healthy Jake I think that no fire thing becomes a non issue. Jake and Smitty have enough for the whole offense.
