Who would we be targeting there? Njoku? Barnett? Lamp?
I guess it's too early to tell.

I get trading down to an extent, but we have signed some aged players in the apparent hope of winning now. IMHO, you stay at 8 if you're truly after "best player available". Sometimes the GM can get a little too cute and piss away a high selection in hopes of saving money. I hope we stay at 8. Surely to God, with as many areas of need as well as opportunity to upgrade existing players we can select an impactful YOUNG player. The reality is that signing now doesn't necessarily equal a roster spot on opening Sunday.

I'm thinking that Proehl was the biggest advocate for guys like Brown and Funchess. I'm thinking there's a good chance Funchess is part of a trade package at some point.

By the way, I'm not putting the Funchess pick on Proehl at all. That was the GM's folly.

I wouldn't start a riot in Charlotte if we took this guy.

That #98 pick I'd use on Sidney Jones now if he's there. Give him a redshirt year, and you could have a stud in 2018.

Drafting injured players and redshirting them doesn't have a great track record in the NFL. Usually that just ends up being a wasted pick. Then again, so was Ealy and Funchess, so whatever.
