Gerry Vallaincourt (aka GerryV) is returning to the QC!!!!!

After a 14 year stopover in New Orleans covering the New Orleans Horents (and dipping his toe in local radio/tv) Gerry Vallaincourt (aka GerryV) announced on his FB page that he was returning to Charlotte radio !!!!! THE GERRY V SHOW will begin on July 17 and air from 3-7pm on ESPN730 . . The station will soon announce an FM signal simulcast affiliation (like 610am WFNZ airs on 102.5FM) . . .

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm perhaps we are finally seeing a possible 610AM WFNZ/730AM ESPN battle taking shape . . . Vman vs. Kroeger (PM Drivetime) . . . SHould be interesting !!!

WFNZ has pretty much turned to crap. McClain is almost unlistenable, the midday stuff is just okay, and Kroger's shift became very bland in the new format. The 6:00-7:00 replay show is just plain mindless. I wasn't a big JerryV fan back when he was doing sports talk in the 90s. Maybe he has settled down a bit and will offer this market some quality.

Let's hope he's all grown up now and leaves all the gimmicks out of his show.
