    I'd say that where you and I differ is that I figure there was probably more than one call that could've gotten Mack to leave. Happens all the time to these programs.

    his base at unc was 100-something. he was making 750,000 base at texas in year 1. that's a lot of jack for unc to come up with. plus at texas, he got all the extras that put him up over 1,000,000.

    i agree though that mack may be one of those guys that enjoys putting things together more than piling up the wins.

    I think we were going to pay Beamer in that neighborhood (750K) too. One thing Carolina is not short of is cash.

    Well, all we have to go on is that he said that the Texas job was the only one that could make him leave Chapel Hill. Of course he also said he wouldn't leave at all if the built the new facilities.....

    For the record, I think the only other schools he would have left for were Oklahoma and FSU.
